Night of the Living Deadlift

Meet Director:

Location:

Anvil Strength Soldotna, Alaska
43421 Kalifornsky Beach Rd Ste 5
Soldotna, AK 99669

Bring your friends!

This contest is a fundraiser event for the Heroes Movement, an organization that pays for gym memberships for our veterans. This company has been an incredible partner of Anvil nearly since the beginning, providing gym memberships for more than 20 veterans since the partnership began.

The two contested events will not be scored together. There will be a men's and women's event winner for each!

For the deadlift, the weight on the bar will start at 155 and will continually rise in 20lb increments. Each competitor has 60 seconds to complete their lift once their name is called. If the bar is off the ground at the end of 60 seconds, the lift will count. Once a competitor fails at a weight, they will receive no further attempts at higher weights. DOTS score will be used to determine overall winner for men and women.

The "Coffin Carry" is a loadable coffin shaped steel implement. Each competitor will lift the implement off of the ground and traverse the length of the gym and back until failure. Winner will be determined by the total distance carried.

Competitors are encouraged to wear their favorite costume. Best costume earns a prize! At the conclusion of the competition, we will celebrate with a cookout and bonfire on-site.

Spectator tickets are $10. This will help offset costs of the food that will be provided. Donations to the Heroes Movement will be accepted on site as well. Stay tuned for information regarding discounted lodging in the area of the gym.
