The Story Behind Anchor of Iron
“Some businesses begin with a business plan. Anchor of Iron began with a legacy.”
When I first started building this business, it went through several different names. Each one represented a different season, a different idea, and a different version of the vision I had in my heart. But none of them truly felt like home. I wasn’t looking for a name that simply sounded strong—I was looking for a name that represented who I am, where I came from, and the kind of place I wanted to create for others. Eventually, everything came together.
Anchor of Iron.
The name is a tribute to my grandfather, the man who gave me something that shaped the rest of my life—stability.
My grandfather served in the United States Navy. He wasn’t just a veteran; he was a steady presence in my life. When I think back on the people who helped shape me, I think of him. He was dependable, grounded, calm in the storm, and someone I always knew I could count on. He became the example of the kind of strength I admired most.
The anchor represents that stability.
An anchor doesn’t stop storms from happening.
It simply refuses to let the ship drift away.
That’s what my grandfather was for me.
And that’s what I hope Anchor of Iron becomes for every person who walks through our doors—a place that keeps people grounded, supported, and moving forward no matter what season of life they’re in.
The iron represents something equally important.
Old anchors were forged from iron. They were built by fire, shaped through pressure, and designed to withstand the harshest conditions imaginable. They weren’t made to look impressive—they were made to last.
That’s the kind of strength I believe in.
Not temporary motivation.
Not quick fixes.
But strength that’s forged through consistency, resilience, and showing up even when life gets hard.
As the vision for Anchor of Iron continued to grow, another symbol naturally became part of our identity.
The octopus.
At first glance, it may seem unexpected. But to me, it represents exactly what I want this business to become.
Octopuses are incredibly intelligent, endlessly curious, and remarkably adaptable. They solve problems, learn quickly, and evolve to meet whatever environment they’re placed in.
Anchor of Iron has always been an ever-evolving business. We’ve changed. We’ve grown. We’ve refined our coaching, our programs, and our systems—and we’ll continue to do so.
But no matter how much we evolve, we’ll never lose sight of our foundation.
The octopus carries another meaning that’s even more personal.
It has three hearts.
Those three hearts represent the heartbeat of my life:
My mother
My sister
Myself
They remind me every single day that no one succeeds alone. Behind every dream is a family, a support system, and the people who continue to believe in us when we need it most. Those three hearts are a reminder that strength isn’t just individual.
It’s shared.
It’s supported.
It’s passed from one generation to the next.
Today, Anchor of Iron is far more than a gym.
It’s a place where beginners discover confidence.
Where athletes chase new goals.
Where people recovering from setbacks learn to trust themselves again.
Where relationships matter just as much as results.
Where coaching starts by listening before programming.
Where every person is treated like an individual—not just another membership.
And where people can find a community that believes in them, sometimes before they believe in
themselves.
We’ll continue to evolve.
We’ll continue to learn.
We’ll continue to improve.
But our foundation will never change.
We will always believe in building people before building numbers.
We will always choose relationships over transactions.
We will always coach with honesty, compassion, and intention.
Because that’s what Anchor of Iron was built to be.
A place where people can find both strength and stability.
Just as my grandfather gave that gift to me.
My hope is that through Anchor of Iron, we can pass that same gift on to every person who becomes part of this family.
