Frequently Asked Questions
-
All monthly memberships include 24/7 gym access using our secure key fob entry system. We understand life doesn't always fit into traditional gym hours, so whether you're an early riser, work night shifts, or prefer training late in the evening, you'll always have the flexibility to train when it works best for your schedule.
-
The best part is—you don't need much to get started.
We recommend comfortable workout clothes, a clean pair of athletic shoes, and a water bottle. As you continue your strength journey, our coaches can help you determine if equipment such as lifting shoes, a belt, wrist wraps, knee sleeves, or other accessories would benefit your training.
At Anchor of Iron, we believe in earning your equipment as your training progresses rather than feeling like you need to buy everything on day one.
-
We encourage every prospective member to schedule a free gym walkthrough before joining.
During your visit, you'll meet with one of our coaches, tour the facility, discuss your goals, and learn about the different services we offer. More importantly, you'll get a feel for our community and coaching style.
We believe choosing a gym is about more than equipment—it's about finding a place where you feel comfortable, supported, and excited to keep showing up.
-
You're exactly the type of person we built Anchor of Iron for.
Between work, family, travel, and life's unexpected challenges, finding time to train can feel impossible. That's why all monthly memberships include 24/7 access, allowing you to train whenever it fits your schedule—not ours.
If you're working with one of our coaches, we'll also build your program around your lifestyle, so your training remains realistic and sustainable.
-
We take pride in maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming facility.
Members are expected to wipe down equipment after use, return equipment to its designated location, and help us maintain a space everyone can enjoy. Our coaching staff regularly cleans and inspects equipment to ensure the gym remains safe, functional, and ready for every workout.
We believe respecting the facility is part of respecting the community.
-
Safety begins long before someone touches a barbell.
Every prospective member completes a complimentary walkthrough and consultation where we discuss their goals, training history, previous injuries, and expectations. This allows us to determine if Anchor of Iron is the right fit while helping us create the best path forward for each individual.
For clients working directly with a coach, we emphasize proper movement patterns, technique, and individualized programming before increasing intensity or weight.
We also believe safety extends beyond physical training. Our goal is to create a respectful, encouraging environment where every member feels welcomed, supported, and comfortable asking questions.
-
Our community is one of the things we're most proud of.
We take time to get to know every prospective member because we want Anchor of Iron to remain a welcoming, respectful, and supportive environment for everyone. The walkthrough gives both you and our coaching staff an opportunity to ask questions, make sure we're a good fit for one another, and ensure we can help you reach your goals.
We're not trying to be the biggest gym in town—we're committed to being one of the best communities to train in.
-
Absolutely not. Whether you've never stepped foot in a gym or you're an experienced athlete preparing for competition, our coaching is tailored to your current experience and goals.
-
Not at all.
Everyone starts somewhere. Our job is to help you become stronger than you were yesterday.
-
No.
While we have a strong passion for strength sports, the majority of our members are everyday people looking to get stronger, move better, improve their health, lose weight, build confidence, or simply feel better in their daily lives.
-
Yes.
Our team's extensive medical background allows us to thoughtfully modify training for many individuals recovering from injuries or managing chronic conditions. We always encourage members to communicate with their healthcare providers when appropriate, and we build programs around each person's abilities and goals.
-
This is a common misconception that has been proven more “myth” than “fact”. The short and sweet answer is this: No. You won't bulk up when you start lifting weights. What you will do, though, is lose body fat and earn the "toned" appearance so many people are after.
-
This question has many facets to it. How much effort are you putting in per session? Per week? How is your dieting and sleep? Genetic make up, baseline level of and background in fitness.
-
It all begins with a will to improve. Maybe you want to get faster. Maybe you want to turn a stubborn excess weight into something more desirable. Or maybe you have a burning desire to become the strongest version of yourself. Whatever it is, the way you go about accomplishing this can (and will) make all the difference.
Joining the Anchor of Iron family is a pretty great start though.
